What gets you ready for the Christmas season?

I love the Advent season in church of the 4 Sunday leading up to Christmas. We started Advent today and the last song was really inspirational “The Advent of our King, our thoughts must now employ; then let us meet him on the road with songs of holy joy!”
I like the songs leading up to Christmas, it gets me ready.

My oldest has a birthday on the 6th, so we wait for her to have her birthday before we dive into the season. We kick it off by picking out our tree, this year we are chopping one down from the inlaws farm.
Decorations & the cold weather; plus the music and gifts gets me ready.

Also all the decorations, and putting the lights up outside!
we lit the first advent candle today in church. And as we were doing that we sang Emmanuel. and plus it snowed 2 inches last night and it’s supposed to snow 3 more inches tonight =)
I also think the songs lead me up but not the religious ones more like the carols and most of all the tv specials. Oh boy do I love those cartoon shows I just love how the depict me it just makes me and the Mrs. laugh. My favorite movie is Santa Clause Is Comin’ to Town. I think the elves love the songs the most as they can’t stop singing them in the workshop. Have a Merry Christmas!
