Ok i have just made a 2nd veggie patch, and i want some fresh veg for christmas and around that time.

I was thinking, carrots, parsnips, potatoes, sweeds, and cabbage.

Will they be ok through the winter and will they be ready if I seed them next week?
what do you mean?

  1. sux_2b_ewe says:

    Squash and gourds.

    Like zucchini, pumpkins, etc.

Planting some potatoes would be good, too. Anything which will grow underground. It might be too late to start the cabbage, but if you expect to have nice weather for awhile where you are at then go for it. As long as they get a good start then they’ll survive harsher weather later.

Carrots. I live in NW PA and one year my brother went out to his garden on Christmas morning and dug out carrots for a roast beef dinner.
